Abstract
Chromatographic material was delivered into fused silica capillary col umns mainly by the use of sedimentation by gravity. After sedimentatio n of the packing material, the columns were pressurized at 8000 psi an d evaluated for capillary electrochromatography (CEC). The capillary c olumns were tested using a commercially available capillary electropho resis unit. Under typical CEC conditions, the capillary columns packed by gravity showed reduced plate heights below 2 with a reproducibilit y of less than 9% RSD.
