Vv. Grachev et Tp. Ivleva, FILTRATION COMBUSTION IN THE CLOSED VOLUME OF AN SHS REACTOR, Combustion, explosion, and shock waves, 33(5), 1998, pp. 539-547
We propose a two-dimensional mathematical model of filtration combusti
on of a charge layer in an SHS reactor, in which the variation in the
temperature and pressure of the gas in the reactor during the synthesi
s is taken into account. For a kinetic combustion regime, me have cons
tructed an approximate analytical solution, which is in satisfactory a
greement with the results of a numerical calculation. Heating of the g
as in the reactor volume is shown to lead to acceleration of reaction-
front propagation, whereas the moment of attainment of maximum pressur
e in the reactor, which allows one to judge, in practice, the cessatio
n of the synthesis, does not always coincide with cessation of combust
ion.
