Abstract
Field induced acoustic emissions (AE) in damaged ferroelectric ceramic s have been studied. The field induced AE was not observed after the p oling was completed at given electric fields. However, new AE was gene rated when the samples were damaged. It has been demonstrated that the AE method can be used to detect the damage of piezoelectric/ferroelec tric materials and to determine safe driving electric fields.
