Abstract
The temperature dependence of the volume thermal expansion and the int eratomic separation are studied from a static lattice to melting tempe rature for NaCl crystal. A new semi-phenomenological isobaric EOS is d erived to investigate the interatomic separation as a function of temp erature. The results are compared with the available experimental data . A good agreement between theory and experiment demonstrates the vali dity of the present work. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights re served.
