Abstract
In this article, benzoic acid, phthalic acid and pyromellitic acid, wi th different proportions to Eu3+, are doped separately into silica xer ogels through sol-gel route. The luminescent property variations and t hermal stability of the three aromatic carboxylic acid:Eu3+ complexes in the heat treatment are discussed, and the relationships between the luminescent properties thermal stability and the structure of the com plexes are also studied. In silica xerogels, the increase of the numbe r of carboxyl groups improves the luminescence intensity and thermal s table temperature of the aromatic carboxylic acid:Eu3+ complexes.
