Abstract
We study stability of recovery of an obstacle D from its scattering am plitude corresponding to the Helmholtz equation DELTAu + k2u = 0 in th e three-dimensional space outside D. We assume u is zero on the bounda ry of D (soft obstacle). We consider smooth star-shaped and analytic D and obtain double logarithmic type and logarithmic type estimates.
