Abstract
Baculovirus amplification in one insect cell line Spodoptera frugiperd a (Sf21) and subsequent recombinant protein production in another cell line, Trichoplusia ni, has been achieved within a single bioreactor. The advantages of this single bioreactor configuration include minimiz ation of the virus volumes and titres required for large scale protein expression experiments as well as optimization of the infection proce ss itself.
