Abstract
It was aimed to synthesize a 2,4-dibenzyl substituted -diazabicyclo[3. 3.1]nonan-9-one-1,5-dicarboxylate, which attracts interest as an opioi d-like analgesic. The standard procedure of a double Mannich-reaction was applied but led to an unexpected naphthyridine skeleton. The struc ture of this compound was confirmed by an X-ray analysis.
