Abstract
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) is essential for normal reproduc tive maturation and function. We present a review of the known mechani sms of hypothalamic GnRH transcriptional control through the conserved GnRH promoter. Understanding this promoter region will allow us to co mprehend better the complexities of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.
