Abstract
One of the fields of environmental law related to the management of pu blic land and natural resources is ''cultural resources'' law. Cultura l resources include a variety of items, ranging from historic building s to abandoned shipwrecks. Among the statutes that protect these resou rces on federal lands are the National Environmental Policy Act, the N ational Historic Preservation Act, the Archaeological Resources Protec tion Act, and the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation A ct. This Article examines a case that presents significant issues of f irst impression under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatr iation Act.
