Fm. Gu et al., CONFORMATION ANALYSIS OF FREEZE-DRIED ISOTACTIC POLYSTYRENE FROM DILUTE-SOLUTIONS, Macromolecular rapid communications, 19(7), 1998, pp. 367-369
Fourier transform infrared spectra of freeze-dried samples of isotacti
c polystyrene (i-PS) from dilute solutions were analyzed. The 698, 145
2, 1493 and 1601 cm(-1) bands increased in sharpness and intensity as
the solution concentration decreased, indicating that the freeze-dried
sample is in a more dilated state. When the freeze-dried i-PS was ann
ealed at 100 degrees C, all aforementioned bands broadened and their h
eights depressed, accompanied with a significant change of the bands a
t 981 and 906 cm(-1).
