Abstract
Lead-zirconate-titanate (PZT) films with perovskite structure have bee n synthesized using a novel soft-chemistry method that involved use of a sol-gel method followed by a subsequent hydrothermal treatment. Bot h pyrolyzed and unpyrolyzed Pb(Zr-0.52, Ti-0.48)O-3 films prepared usi ng sol-gel method were chosen as the precursor films for hydrothermal treatment. Structural characteristics proved that the films were trans formed from their amorphous precursor phase to the crystallized perovs kite phase and were found to grow from the surface to the underneath l ayer.
