Abstract
1-Vinyl-8-hydroxy-beta-carboline was identified as the cytotoxic const ituent of the bryozoans Catenicella cribraria and Cribricellina cribra ria. Literature nmr data for this previously known compound, now repor ted from a new source, were corrected.
