FLARE INDEX OF SOLAR-CYCLE-22

A brief description and final results of the flare index (FI) of solar activity are given. The calculation of the daily flare index of cycle 22 was determined using the final grouped solar flare files from Nati onal Geophysical Data Center A. The final data of FI are presented in graphical form over cycle 22. Daily calculated values are available fo r general use in Kandilli Observatory's and NGDC's anonymous ftp serve rs. The pattern of similar activity indices that arise under different physical conditions during cycle 22 are compared with the flare index . The north - south asymmetry in the daily hare index data was studied .
