Ci. Simionescu et al., SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLY(AZOMETHINE)S WITH ROTAXANE ARCHITECTURE, Macromolecular chemistry and physics, 199(7), 1998, pp. 1301-1306
Poly(azometkine)s with rotaxane architecture were synthesized by means
of solution polycondensation of terephthalaldehyde with 1,6-hexamethy
lenediamine/ alpha- and beta-cyclodextrin adducts, and blocking of the
chain ends with a bulky aromatic amine, i.e., p-aminophenyltriphenylm
ethane. As compared with the polymer obtained in the absence of cyclod
extrin, these polymers are more hygroscopic and soluble in polar solve
nts while their IR, NMR and DSC data support the presence of cyclodext
rins in the polymer chain.
