Sp. Liu et al., RESONANCE RAYLEIGH-SCATTERING METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF TRACE AMOUNTS OF MOLYBDENUM WITH THIOCYANATE-BASIC TRIPHENYLMETHANE DYE SYSTEMS, Gaodeng xuexiao huaxue xuebao, 19(7), 1998, pp. 1040-1044
Studies on the resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS) spectra of the ion-
association complexes of [MoO(SCN)(5)](2-) were carried out with the b
asic triphenylmethane dye such as crystal violet (CV), ethyl violet (E
V), malachite green (MG), brilliant green (BG) and iodine green (IG).
The spectral characteristics, the effect factors and the optimum react
ion conditions have been investigated. The quantitative relationships
of the intensities of RRS to the concentration of molybdenum were esta
blished. The new and highly sensitive ways for the determination of mo
lybdenum by RRS have been proposed. The methods can be applied to the
determination of trace amounts of molybdenum in steel with satisfactor
y results.
