Lp. Romaka et al., PHASE-EQUILIBRIA IN THE ZR-CU-SN SYSTEM AND CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF ZRCUSN AND ZRCUSN2, Polish Journal of Chemistry, 72(7), 1998, pp. 1154-1159
The isothermal section of the phase diagram of the Zr-Cu-Sn system has
been constructed at 770 and 670 K. Two new ternary compounds were obt
ained and their crystal structure was determined. The ZrCuSn stannide
crystallizes with the TiNiSi structure type (space group Pnma, a = 6.6
279(1) Angstrom, b = 4.3679(9) Angstrom, c = 7.6791(2) Angstrom), the
ZrCuSn2 structure belongs to the HfCuSi2 structure type (space group P
4/nmm, a = 4.1350(7) Angstrom, c = 9.225(3) Angstrom). Electrical resi
stivity and magnetic susceptibility of these compounds have been measu
red.
