A preparation method of branched random copolymers of methacrylate and
hydroxyethylmethacrylate by addition of double-functional monomers du
ring radical polymerization process was discussed. High yield of solub
le branched polymers was obtained when divinylbenzene was used as a br
anching agent in a proper procedure of addition. It was found that the
steady shear viscosity of 40% acetone solution of the polymerization
product was much lower than that of the corresponding linear polymer s
olution.
