G. Cornacchia et al., GENETIC-VARIABILITY BETWEEN-AND-WITHIN PROVENANCES OF TROPICAL PINES, Pesquisa agropecuaria brasileira (1977), 33(6), 1998, pp. 919-928
The objectives of this study were to estimate genetic parameters and t
o evaluate the growth traits and stem form of tropical pines provenanc
es, in Cerrado region, using yielding and form characteres: volume und
er bark, stem form, forking and foxtailing. The design used was a rand
omized blocks with five replications with information within the plot.
The ANOVA results showed significant (P < 0.01 and P < 0.05) and non s
ignificant differences between provenances for the evaluated traits. H
eritability estimates based on block average were always greater than
heritability estimates based on individual values. P. tecunumanii show
ed better silvicultural performance than P. caribaea var. hondurensis
and P. oocarpa.
