The authors report the case of a patient presenting with atypical feat
ures of Candida albicans cardiac infection, with unusual infectious de
structive lesions. While the initial hypothesis was that of aortic end
ocarditis, the clinical course and operative findings showed echocardi
ographic features of septal micro-abscesses adjacent to the aortic ori
fice, which was devoid of any infectious lesions.
