Abstract
A strong CN star in the Sculptor dwarf spheroidal galaxy discovered by Smith & Dopita (1983) has been found to be an insipid CH star. This s tar, Sculptor 314, exhibits both strong CN bands and strong CH bands r uling out any similarity with CN strong stars found in most globular c lusters. No C-2 bands are found in its spectra. Based on the derived a bundances, when Sculptor 314 evolves further up the giant branch it wi ll not develop strong C-2 and will not appear similar to those CH star s which have been found by previous searches.
