Abstract
Fifty-six adult female mosquitoes of the species Anopheles farauti sen su stricto - the arthropod vector for malaria - were collected from Ma ckay, central Queensland, at latitude 21 degrees 09'5, between August 1996 and August 1997. This is the southernmost record of this species, and may indicate that the malaria-receptive zone in Queensland needs to be expanded.
