Abstract
A new method for the control of chaos is presented. The procedure is b ased on proportional feedback and is very simple to implement. The pre sentation is pedagogical, and in order to illustrate the method, we ap ply it to the Henon map and to the Lorenz equations. Finally, we look at the stability of the control algorithm in the presence of noise. (C ) 1998 American Association of Physics Teachers.
