Abstract
Hydrophobic derivatives of a tea polyphenol have been synthesized. 6, 8-Bis(octylthiomethyl)-epigallocatechin 3-O-gallate, 6, 8-bis(octylthi omethyl) -4 beta-(2-hydroxyethio)epigallocatechin 3-O-gallate and epig allocatechin 3-O-[4-O-(N-octadecylcarbamoyl)gallate] show-ed strong in hibition activity against lipid peroxidation of liposome caused by bot h lipid-soluble and water-soluble radical generators.
