Abstract
The power carried by complex modes in both reciprocal and nonreciproca l bored microstrip lines has been computed to study the nature of thes e modes. The computed data show that both the power associated with th e superposition of a pair of complex modes in reciprocal structures an d the power carried by complex modes individually in nonreciprocal str uctures is purely reactive.
