Abstract
Crystal structure of hexakis(2,3,6-tri-O-acetyl)-alpha-cyclodextrin wa s determined by the X-ray method. The molecule with twofold crystallog raphic symmetry has a cavity with the shape of a rectangular box. Both ends of the cavity are closed by acetyl groups and a water molecules is included in the molecular cage.
