Abstract
A new synthetic method for alpha,beta-dehydroamino acid derivatives ha ve been accomplished via lead(IV) tetraacetate oxidation of ethyl hydr ogen acetoamidomalonate derivatives in the presence of copper(II) acet ate. Four 3-substituted 2,3-dehydroprolines have been synthesized by t his oxidative decarboxylation.
