Abstract
The study considers the effect of small deviations from horizontality of the substrate plane, on which a liquid-metal drop is formed, by the accuracy of determining the surface tension by the method of a large (lying) drop. It is shown that, at angles of deviation exceeding 45', the errors in determining the surface tension exceed the experimental error for this technique (0.5%). This effect is caused by the violatio n of the main requirement of the technique of a large (lying) drop-axi al symmetry of the drop shape.
