G. Riontino et al., VELOCITY OF SOUND AND RESISTIVITY MEASUREMENTS ON AMORPHOUS FECRB, FEMNB, AND FENIB DURING STRUCTURAL RELAXATION, Physica status solidi. b, Basic research, 179(2), 1993, pp. 315-321
The velocity of sound and the electrical resistivity of amorphous Fe75
Cr5B20, Fe75Mn5B20, and Fe75Ni5B20 are measured during isothermal heat
treatments. It is shown that different types of measurements are inde
ed necessary in order to reach sensible conclusions on relaxation mech
anisms, since one measurement only is prone to multiple interpretation
. Without reference to any specific model, the present study sheds som
e light on the nature of the atomic rearrangements involved in the str
uctural relaxation processes, combining the results of two experimenta
l techniques and three related compositions.
