Abstract
Superconductivity below 4 K is reported for the layered compound NbxTa 5-xS2 (x = 1.72), which contains metal-bonded Nb-Ta sheets bordered by sulfur layers, where the sulfur-metal-sulfur layer blocks are weakly van der Waals bonded to adjacent ones.
