FUTURE ASPECTS OF ANIMAL NUTRITION

Animal nutrition deals with the energy and nutrient requirements of do mestic animals, pets etc. Originally the main aim of animal nutrition was to exhaust the genetic potency of animals. Presently more complex aspects are considered. In the future the effective conversion of feed s into foods of animal origin or other performances of animals under c onsideration of economy, ecology, animal protection and animal health is the main aim of research in the field of animal nutrition. The pape r describes aspects to be careful with natural ressources in the feed production and animal feeding, to meet the nutrient requirements of an imals, to protect the animals, to influence the quality of foods of an imal origin and to produce under consideration of economy and ecology. Future aspects of research in animal nutrition are mentioned. Animal nutrition is an applied science and needs support by basic research to realize all aims mentioned above. In the future public costumers shou ld promote fields of basic research in order to avoid disproportions i n nutritional research.
