P. Weilhammer et al., RECENT RESULTS ON CVD DIAMOND RADIATION SENSORS, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 409(1-3), 1998, pp. 264-270
CVD diamond radiation sensors are being developed for possible use in
trackers in the LHC experiments. The diamond promises to be radiation
hard well beyond particle fluences that can be tolerated by Si sensors
. Recent results from the RD 42 collaboration on charge collection dis
tance and on radiation hardness of CVD diamond samples will be reporte
d. Measurements with diamond tracking devices, both strip detectors an
d pixel detectors, will be discussed. Results from beam tests using a
diamond strip detector which was read out with fast, 25 ns shaping tim
e, radiation-hard pipeline electronics will be presented. (C) 1998 Els
