Vb. Stepanov, REDUCTION OF NOISE EMISSION FROM AN ENGINEERING STRUCTURE BY PASSIVE TRANSFORMATION OF THE VIBRATION FIELD OF THE EMITTING SURFACE, Acoustical physics, 44(4), 1998, pp. 456-460
It is shown that noise emission from an engineering structure can be r
educed by changing the spatial scale of the vibration field on the emi
tting surface: with an ordered system of lightweight passive vibrators
-radiators arranged on the surface and excited by its vibrations. The
noise-reduction efficiency of the method is estimated considering the
transfer characteristics of real vibrators.
