Abstract
Necessary optimality conditions for nonlinear nonsmooth two-dimensiona l discrete control systems are derived. Under additional convexity ass umptions, these conditions can be obtained in the form of a maximum pr inciple. For some special cases, sufficient optimality conditions are also presented.
