Abstract
The fungus Corynosporium cassiicola DSM 62475 is shown to induce derac emization in certain 1,2-diols, including the synthetically important indane-1,2-diol, by enantioconvergent stereoinversion processes in whi ch the recovered enantiomer is not a substrate for the dehydrogenase e nzymes involved.
