Ab. Packard et al., SYNTHESIS AND BIODISTRIBUTION OF CU-64-LABELED MONOCATIONIC DIIMINEDIOXIME COPPER(II) COMPLEXES, Nuclear medicine and biology, 25(6), 1998, pp. 531-537
Monocationic copper(II) complexes of three derivatives of the diimined
ioxime ligand 0-dioximino-3,9-dimethyl-4,8-diazaundeca-3,8-diene were
labeled with Cu-64 in high radiochemical yield, and the biodistributio
n of the complexes was measured in mice. The concentration of the comp
lexes in the heart was low, but the partition coefficients of the comp
lexes are less than optimal for a myocardial perfusion agent. All thre
e complexes are resistant to reduction by glutathione in vitro. This s
uggests that more lipophilic derivatives of these compounds merit furt
her investigation as possible myocardial perfusion agents. NUCL MED BI
