Abstract
Equilibrium configurations of threefold composite dislocations that in clude either intrinsic-intrinsic or intrinsic-extrinsic stacking fault s are calculated in the framework of isotropic elastic theory. A compa rison between the theoretical predictions and the experimental observa tions of Lomer-Cottrell dislocations in the intermetallic alloy Ni3Ga suggests that some of the observed configurations are not at equilibri um.
