Abstract
The preimaginal stages of Pyractomena borealis (Randall 1838) are desc ribed and illustrated. Information on the biology is also included. A detailed description of the functional morphology of the holdfast orga n of the larva is presented together with a schematic illustration, st ep by step, of the eversion process. Instructions on rearing technique s are also provided.
