Luminescent properties of RbCaCl3, KCaCl3, and CsSrCl3 crystals doped
with Ce (0.1 mol %) and excited by pulsed X-ray and synchrotron radiat
ion sources are studied at T = 300 K. The features observed in the lum
inescence excitation spectra of Ce ions in the crystals under study ar
e attributed to the intracenter tin the range of 3.7-6.0 eV), excitoni
c (6.0-8.0 eV), and recombination (>8.0 eV) mechanisms of excitation o
f luminescence centers.
