Abstract
Radiolysis of L-alpha-lecithin liposomes in aqueous dispersions was ex amined. The radiation-chemical yields of transformations of ionol inco rporated in lipid membranes were determined. It was found that the yie ld of ionol degradation increased with ionol concentration in a lipid membrane and ran as high as 1.7 molecule/100 eV. It was suggested that ionol was decomposed via reaction with hydroxyl radicals.
