Abstract
An explicit solution is presented for three-layer beams with non-ident ical and semi-rigidly connected layers. Exact designer-usable equation s for calculating mid-span deflection due to bending deformation and i nterlayer slip of a simply supported layered beam subjected to a unifo rmly distributed load and a point load applied at mid-span are also gi ven. Calculated results agree well with the results from finite elemen t analyses and from tests.
