J. Peponis et al., ON THE GENERATION OF LINEAR REPRESENTATIONS OF SPATIAL CONFIGURATION, Environment and planning. B, Planning & design, 25(4), 1998, pp. 559-576
It has been shown that, with space syntax, spatial configuration can b
e described as a set of lines covering all the areas of a layout and a
ll the ways of moving around the one-dimensional and two-dimensional b
oundaries that it comprises. In this paper we propose alternative form
al definitions of linear representations of spatial configuration and
the ways in which they can be generated. The significance of these rep
resentations is discussed briefly.
