Abstract
The new redox-active cluster compounds [Ru6C(CO)(14)(eta(6)-C6H4C8H16O 5)] and [Ru6C(CO)(14)(eta(6)-C6H4C10H20O6)] have been synthesised by d irect reaction of the aryl crown ether with the hexaruthenium carbido cluster [Ru6C(CO)(17)] and display host-guest type behaviour with cati ons Na+ and NH4+ both spectroscopically and electrochemically.
