Abstract
Allophanes, short-range order aluminosilicates, flocculate in suspensi on. The study of suspensions of natural or synthetic allophanes by sma ll-angle X-ray scattering shows this aggregation is fractal. Aggregate s are cluster-cluster diffusion limited or chemical limited, if bindin g agents are present. They are formed by compact clusters of several a llophane particles.
