Abstract
A survey of the materials used in grade 10 English classes in Edmonton in 1996 produced returns from 21 out of 22 schools in the public and Catholic systems. Teachers produced 1,698 citations of titles, coverin g materials in different print genres,film and video, and a few titles in of her media. A small number of titles predominated in the lists, particularly Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird.
