Abstract
A novel active array antenna for short-range communication application s is presented. Each element of the array consists of a 'cold' MESFET which performs both the ASK demodulator and the DPSK reflection modula tor functions and which is directly mounted on a rectangular microstri p resonator. The techniques used to fabricate this active antenna prov ide good performance at low cost and low power consumption.
