Abstract
The authors present, for the first time, room temperature CW operation of an optically-pumped vertical cavity laser emitting at 1.48 mu m, i ncorporating an Sb-based mirror on InP. The structure also includes st rained AlGaInAs quantum wells and a wafer-fused AlGaAs mirror The inpu t threshold power is 50mW at 20 degrees C and has a minimum value of 2 7 mW at 230K.
