Abstract
Treatment of 3,4-epoxyamides with LDA affords gamma-hydroxy-alpha,beta -unsaturated amides, usually with high (E)-selectivity. The 3,4-epoxya mides were prepared by the epoxidation of beta,gamma-unsaturated amide s with meta-chloroperbenzoic acid. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
