Abstract
Starting from 'chiral-pool' derived gamma-amino-beta-ketosulfones, a f acile synthesis of enantiopure alpha-amino ketones has been developed via an alpha-alkylation-desulfonation sequence. Extension of this meth odology to enantiopure a-acetoxy ketone synthesis,however, have met wi th limited success. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved .
