Ms. Burdis et al., V0.50TI0.50OX THIN-FILMS AS COUNTERELECTRODES FOR ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICES, Solar energy materials and solar cells, 54(1-4), 1998, pp. 93-98
Thin films of V0.50Ti0.50Ox have been deposited by RF sputtering from
metallic targets. Their use as potential counterelectrodes in electroc
hromic devices has been investigated. It is found that although they a
re slightly yellow looking in transmission, the films can reversibly s
tore relatively large amounts of charge, whilst showing a reasonably l
ow electrochromic colouration efficiency. The electrochemistry of V0.5
0Ti0.50Ox is found to be simple, in fact rather similar to that of WO,
, making it an almost ideal material to use in such a variable transmi
ssion device. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
